SARASOTA, Fla. – The Orioles' Grapefruit League game today against the Tampa Bay Rays at Ed Smith Stadium has been canceled due to weather.
The game will not be made up.
It's been raining all morning here in Sarasota and forecasts call for it to continue into the early evening.
Fans who have paid tickets for today's game can exchange them for any remaining home spring training game, based on availability, or receive a refund.
Miguel Gonzalez was slated to start today, but he won't by pushed back to start Friday. Ubaldo Jimenez, scheduled to make his first spring start in Friday's home game against the Philadelphia Phillies, will remain in that role. There's no update on when Gonzalez will make his next start.
Paid tickets for today's game can be exchanged on non-game days at the Ed Smith Stadium box office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On game days, tickets can be exchanged beginning two hours before the game for that specific game only. Fans who exchange tickets for a prime game will have to pay the cost in difference.
To receive a refund for paid tickets, fans should send the original game tickets via certified mail to: Baltimore Orioles, March 6 Spring Training Rainout, Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th St., Sarasota, FL 34237.
