Orioles' Game 1 start time is set after Royals win wild-card game

With the Kansas City Royals' thrilling, 12-inning victory in the American League wild-card playoff game early this morning, the start time for the Orioles' first game of the divisional playoffs has been set. The O's will play the Detroit Tigers at 5:37 p.m. Thursday at Camden Yards.

The game would have started a half hour later had the Oakland A's won the wild-card game.

The Orioles will send Chris Tillman to the mound in Game 1 against 2013 Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer.

Kansas City advances to face the Los Angeles Angels in the other AL division series.

The start time for Game 2 on Friday at Camden Yards will be either 12:07 p.m. or 3:07 p.m. depending on who wins the National League wild-card game tonight. If San Francisco wins, the Orioles will be looking at a quick turnaround and a 12:07 p.m. start on Friday. If Pittsburgh prevails, the Orioles will play at 3:07 p.m.

Game 3 is set for 3:45 p.m. Sunday in Detroit.
