Like it seems to be every year, the Orioles have some pretty big gaps between the salary figures they filed in arbitration and what the players' agents filed today.
Often, though, those gaps shrink and the club settles with most of its arbitration-eligible players.
According to sources, here are the filings:
Right-handed pitcher Bud Norris filed for $10.25 million; the Orioles for $7.5 million. He made $5.3 million in 2014.
Infielder-outfielder Steve Pearce filed for $5.4 million; the Orioles for $2 million. He made $850,000 in 2014.
Outfielder Alejandro de Aza filed for $5.65 million; the Orioles for $5 million. He made $4.25 million in 2014.
Left-handed pitcher Zach Britton filed for $4.2 million; the Orioles for $2.2 million. He made $522,000 in 2014.
Right-handed pitcher Miguel Gonzalez filed for $3.95 million; the Orioles for $2.5 million. He made $529,000 in 2014.
Infielder Ryan Flaherty filed for $1.5 million; the Orioles for $900,000. He made $513,000 in 2014.
The Orioles have until February to work out agreements with each player. If they can't, a three-person arbitration panel will choose one filing number or the other. The hearings have not been scheduled.
The Orioles have lost only one arbitration case under Peter G. Angelos since he took over the team in 1993. They are 7-0 in cases led by general counsel H. Russell Smouse.
