The Orioles recalled catcher Steve Clevenger from Triple-A Norfolk and designated outfielder David Lough for assignment to make room on the 25-man roster Friday.

The Orioles recalled catcher Steve Clevenger from Triple-A Norfolk and designated outfielder David Lough for assignment to make room on the 25-man roster Friday.

Clevenger, 29, has appeared in four games with the Orioles this season, going 5-for-11. He was named an International League All-Star this season and batted .305/.375/.393 in 75 games with the Tides.

Lough, 29, batted .202/.243/.318 in 76 games with the Orioles this season. He was the last member of the season-opening outfield rotation designed to replace Nelson Cruz and Nick Markakis. Travis Snider, Alejandro De Aza and Delmon Young were previously designated for assignment.
