Chris Davis goes deep, but celebrates his two walks

on Tuesday night, but after the game, the slugger was more excited about a different column on the stat sheet: his two walks.

"I think that's the first time in a while I've had two walks in a game," Davis said. "Obviously, there wasn't a lot of offense on our end tonight."

To be exact, it was the first time since June 11 in a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels that Davis had walked twice in a game. It was the seventh time this year Davis has drawn multiple walks in a game.

Davis, who was 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs, the two walks and a strikeout, also snapped some other streaks: It was his first home run in 10 games, his longest such streak of the season, and the first time in six games he recorded an extra-base hit or an RBI. His strikeout extended his league-high streak of games with punchout to 23.

Overall, the Orioles took advantage of facing the American League's walks leader in Houston right-hander Lucas Harrell. The Orioles tied a season-high with seven walks, five of which came against Harrell and three of those in a two-run fourth inning. They also drew seven free passes against Texas on July 10.

Catcher Matt Wieters also drew two walks, the third time this season he's done it and the first time since May 15 against San Diego.

The last time Harrell faced the Orioles, he didn't walk any batters over seven innings in a June 4 loss in Houston. But Tuesday, he walked five batters for the fifth time this season.
