The Orioles called up left-hander T.J. McFarland from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned right-hander Tyler Wilson to the Tides on Tuesday evening.
McFarland, 26, allows the Orioles to go back to seven pitchers in the bullpen.
McFarland went 2-3 with a 2.91 ERA and a save in 16 appearances (nine starts) with the Tides this season. He allowed one run in eight innings over his past four appearances with Norfolk for a 1.13 ERA. McFarland is 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 12 games with the Orioles this season.
Wilson, 25, was called up to make a spot start Monday against the Oakland Athletics, and earned the win with two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings in his second major league start. He's 2-1 with a 2.19 ERA in six appearances (two starts) with the Orioles this season.
