Orioles' ballgirl interferes with fair ball in top of fourth inning

In the top of the fourth inning, Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion knocked a base hit just over third base and down the left field line.

And then the Orioles' ballgirl made a nice play, as shown in the MLB.com video above. Unfortunately for her, third base umpire Paul Emmel had signaled that the ball was fair.

The play might have helped to momentarily save a run for the Orioles as the Blue Jays' Adam Lind had to stay at third base. It was unclear whether he could have scored on the play.

However, Lind scored one batter later when Toronto catcher Dioner Navarro grounded out to second baseman Steve Lombardozzi for the first out of the inning.
