Orioles announce rotation for Kansas City series

The Orioles have announced their probable starters for their upcoming series in Kansas City and the rotation will stay in line with one exception: The club has flipped Scott Feldman and Jason Hammel.

Feldman, who started the Orioles' final game before the break on Sunday, will start Monday against the Royals, and Hammel, whose last start came Saturday, will pitch on Tuesday in Kansas City.

Hammel, the Orioles' Opening Day starter, has struggled recently, going winless over his last eight starts with the Orioles going 1-7 over that span. On Saturday, he allowed six runs on 10 hits over six innings in a 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays at Camden Yards.

Feldman has recorded two quality starts in his three outings since the Orioles acquired him on July 2 in a trade with the Cubs. He is coming off a 7 1/3-inning, three-run, five-hit outing on Sunday in a 7-4 win over Toronto.

The Orioles are scheduled to stay on turn for the rest of the series in Kansas City with Wei-Yin Chen pitching Wednesday and Miguel Gonzalez starting on Thursday.
