Orioles center fielder Adam Jones and designated hitter Nelson Cruz were finalists for the annual Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger award at their respective positions but came away empty-handed.
The Orioles won three American League Silver Slugger awards last season, with Jones, first baseman Chris Davis and shortstop J.J. Hardy all winning.
This season, Jones -- who hit 29 homers and drove in 96 runs -- wasn't among the three AL outfielders selected for the awards, which went to the Los Angeles Angels' Mike Trout, Toronto Blue Jays' Jose Bautista and the Cleveland Indians' Michael Brantley.
Cruz, who led the majors with 40 homers, was edged by Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez.
The Silver Slugger awards are selected by a vote of managers and coaches. They are not permitted to vote for players on their own team.
