Notes on Orioles' record away from Camden Yards, Nick Markakis and more

CHICAGO – The Orioles can seal their ninth series win in their past 10 with a victory tonight against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.

The Orioles now have their best single-season road winning percentage since 1997, going 37-26 with a .587 winning percentage away from Camden Yards so far this season. They posted a .642 winning percentage in 1997, finishing with a 52-29 record on the road.


The Orioles are 10-5 in their last 15 games on the road, and the pitching staff has a 2.42 ERA -- 2.91 ERA from the starters, 1.31 ERA from the bullpen -- over that span.

Nick Markakis has hit safely in 10 straight games since Aug. 7, going 17-for-41 (.415/.489/.561) with three doubles, a home run, eight runs, six walks and three RBIs over that stretch. In August, Markakis is hitting .415/.493/.615, hitting safely in 15 of 16 games this month.
