Right-hander Bud Norris' 2015 struggles have followed him to Triple-A Norfolk in a rehabilitation assignment.

Norris, who was placed on the disabled list after dealing with a case of bronchitis last weekend, did not fare well in his first injury rehab assignment with the Tides.

Pitching against Rochester, the Minnesota Twins' Triple-A affiliate, Norris allowed nine earned runs on 12 hits in 2 2/3 innings in the first game of a doubleheader Friday. He allowed two homers, both to Twins prospect Kennys Vargas, and threw 72 pitches, 47 strikes, without getting out of the third inning.

It has been a rough year for Norris, who won 15 games for the Orioles last season. This year, he was 1-4 with a 9.88 ERA in six starts in the majors before dealing with the virus. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Norris was placed on the 15-day DL on Monday because he had lost 10 pounds and was weak for several days.
