Matt Hobgood, the Orioles' first-round pick in 2009, made his first appearance for High-A Frederick on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits in 4 2/3 innings of relief against Salem.
Hobgood is making his way back after shoulder surgery last year. He struck out six on Saturday, and the only run he gave up came on a homer.
He was 7-3 with a 3.71 ERA in 24 appearances (one start) for Low-A Delmarva this season before being promoted to the Keys earlier this week.
