Back from shoulder injury, Terps outside linebacker Matt Robinson to start tonight

Maryland senior outside linebacker Matt Robinson (Atholton), one of the team's defensive leaders, will start tonight against No. 12 Michigan State after missing two games with a shoulder injury.

The Terps also will have long snapper Christian Carpenter back after he missed four games because of a back injury. Carpenter will handle extra points and field goals. Freshman Nate Adams will continue to handle the long snapping on punts.

Starting cornerback Jeremiah Johnson still is hampered by a hamstring injury, so safety Sean Davis will again start at cornerback, as he did against Penn State on Nov. 1.

Sophomore Wes Brown is expected to start at running back over Brandon Ross, who has started eight of Maryland's first nine games.  The Terps are looking to revitalize their running game; their running backs are averaging just 3.4 yards per carry over the past seven games.

Brown picked up 22 yards on five carries against Wisconsin on Oct. 25 and had 24 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries versus Penn State.
