The buildup to the Foster Farms Bowl for Maryland will include practice and normal game-week responsibilities. The Terps will also have an opportunity to enjoy different aspects of San Francisco in advance of the game, which will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Dec. 30.
Maryland coach Randy Edsall on Wednesday disclosed the Terps' non-football-related bowl week schedule.
Here is a rundown:
Dec. 25: The Terps are scheduled to arrive in San Francisco and have a welcome dinner.
Dec. 27: Maryland will visit Alcatraz Island.
Dec. 28: The team will help at St. Anthony's, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, housing, meals, medical care, clothing, furniture, rehabilitation services and senior services. The Terps will then have dinner at Perry's San Francisco before taking a cable car tour around the city.
Dec. 29: Maryland has a luncheon and will attend a pep rally.
"It's good. They have a few things, but they don't overload you, which I think is important," Edsall said. "Where we're staying, the guys will be able to get around and see the sights of San Francisco, and it will be a good experience for them."
