As the Ravens near the bye week and all 32 NFL teams have played at least half of the scheduled 16 this season, several national media outlets have put out midseason All-Pro teams.
For Ravens fans, there's a common thread for every one: Pro Bowl guard Marshal Yanda. But two first-year starters join him on several lists, as did two blossoming stars whose prospects were dimmed by injury. Here's how some national writers rate the Ravens so far:
Smith's inclusion here is justified despite his injury that will keep him out several more weeks. Especially in his absence, Smith's impact on the Ravens defense cannot be understated.
Wagner, a second-year player who is a full-time starter for the first time, joins his linemate Yanda on the analysis site's rankings. Osemele, the Ravens' left guard, was playing at a first-team level before a knee injury limited him, and he joins Mosley as an honorable mention.
ESPN's John Clayton calls Mosley the best defensive rookie in the league and, like the rest, praises Yanda as a rock for the Ravens' offensive line.
Again, the right side of the Ravens' offensive line takes first-team slots. Much of the team's success running the ball has come behind this tandem.
