The Orioles announced the final two editions of their player-designed T-shirt giveaways, with one diagramming out the now-familiar handshake between third baseman Manny Machado and second baseman Jonathan Schoop, and the other featuring Miguel Gonzalez as a mariachi singer.
The popular series has already featured shirts from closer Zach Britton, pitcher Bud Norris, and will continue next week with a shirt designed by shortstop J.J. Hardy.
Machado and Schoop's shirt will be given out on Wednesday, Aug. 19, while Gonzalez' design, which features the Oriole bird playing a trumpet beside him, is the giveaway for Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Gonzalez is a noted mariachi performer in his spare time, and his shirt is pretty wonderful.
The player designs seem to have jumped up a level since the first batch was announced, but I think the Machado/Schoop combo is a contender to the title I'd already bestowed on Norris' "My Home, My City" shirt as the best of the bunch.
Hardy's glove shirt is simple and effective, and Britton's "Rock the Yard" piece was certainly in character, but the stadium skyline on Norris' shirt kind of did it for me.
We'll open it up to you, though. Out of these five player-designed shirts, who did it best?
