With one scheduled rehabilitation game remaining for both shortstop J.J. Hardy (left shoulder strain) and infielder Ryan Flaherty (groin strain), the two maintained the same stances on their pending returns as they had on Monday.
Hardy reported no morning soreness following his first rehab game Monday, nor any issues after Tuesday's game, which was delayed for 78 minutes in the second inning by rain.
"It felt good today, and I think even tomorrow will be another test to see how it feels after some of the swings and misses tonight," Hardy said. "I anticipate it being good. It feels all right. We'll take it day-by-day still."
Hardy has been on the disabled list since late March after jamming his shoulder during a spring training game, and had a cortisone shot on April 25 to take care of the lingering pain.
Hardy singled in his fourth at-bat after striking out in his first two trips, giving himself the swing-and-miss motion he feared entering the week.
"It's something I worried about and I did that a few times tonight," Hardy said. "It was a good test, and I feel strong."
Flaherty, who went on the disabled list on April 24, had a walk and a base hit in four at-bats in a 3-1 win for the Baysox over the Akron Rubber Ducks. He said he still feels 100-percent and will be ready when he's eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Friday.
"That's the plan," he said.
