Ubaldo Jimenez faces A.J. Burnett in Orioles' Grapefruit League game against Phillies

SARASOTA, Fla. -- After being rained out Thursday, the Orioles will face the Phillies this afternoon at Ed Smith Stadium.

We will have an interesting pitching matchup, as Ubaldo Jimenez, who signed a four-year, $50-million deal with the Orioles last month, will face A.J. Burnett, who was one of the club's top offseason targets.

How's that for spring training intrigue?

Right-hander Miguel Gonzalez, who was scheduled to start Thursday, will pitch in relief to get his work in.

Brian Matusz, Tim Berry, Kelvin De La Cruz, Alfredo Aceves and Brock Huntzinger are also scheduled to pitch for the Orioles.

Aceves will be making his second spring appearance. He threw a scoreless inning in his first outing Monday.

"I just get in the rhythm coming here, you know, practice," Aceves said. "That's all."

Huntzinger has retired all six batters he's faced in two spring outings, including earning a save in Tuesday's game against the Yankees, in which he struck out the side in the ninth.
