John Harbaugh to give commencement address Thursday at Stevenson

Thursday will represent a career first for Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

Harbaugh will deliver the keynote address at Stevenson University's commencement on Thursday. A total of 538 students are scheduled to get their degrees at the ceremony, which will be held at the university's Greenspring gymnasium.

Stevenson will hold two separate ceremonies - one at 10 a.m. and one at 3 p.m. - and Harbaugh is scheduled to speak at both, which are closed to the general public.

Harbaugh and Rev. John W. Swope, SJ, the founding president of Baltimore's Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, will receive honorary degrees of Doctor of Humane Letters, Stevenson University's highest academic honor.

Harbaugh, a graduate of Miami University, has led the Ravens to the playoffs and won a postseason game in six of his seven seasons at the helm of the team.

Stevenson is located in Owings Mills and is a short drive from the Ravens' training facility.
