Ray and JanayRice are feeling the love from Baltimore friends this week.
The couple's pals stormed their Owings Mills home for a surprise party to celebrate the seventh anniversary of their arrival in Baltimore.
"We thought we were having a normal Monday night then the doorbell rang...little did we know there they were with drinks, food, games and most of all love & support!" Janay Rice wrote on Instagram.
The former Ravens running back and his wife were given a cake decorated with the word "RICE," surrounded by the words "Family," "Hope," "Love," "Courage," "Strength," "Support."
The group had some drinks, played "Cards Against Humanity," and had lots of laughs, based on the photos Janay Rice posted.
"We can't even describe how amazing this makes us feel!" she wrote.
As anyone who has been following the couple's story knows, it has been a year of ups and downs for them.
In February, TMZ posted initial footage of Rice dragging his then-fiancee's limp body from an elevator in the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
The couple married in a private ceremony in March, the day after Ray Rice was indicted on aggravated assault charges by New Jersey prosecutors.
Hundreds of friends joined the couple three months later for a wedding celebration at the Four Seasons in Baltimore.
Rice avoided jail time, but, after a longer video of the incident (showing Rice striking Janay) was released in September, he was terminated from the Ravens and indefinitely suspended from the NFL. He successfully appealed his suspension last month, and is now eligible to play for another NFL team.
It seems the couple will have some fond memories from their time in Baltimore.
"Our Bmore family is seriously the best!!!" Janay Rice wrote.
