Former Maryland wide receiver Nigel King is forgoing his senior season at Kansas and entering the NFL draft.

"I have decided to forgo my senior season at the University of Kansas to enter the 2015 NFL draft," King announced on Twitter. "I appreciate everyone that has helped me along the way to get me where I am today, both Maryland & Kansas have helped me become a better person and football player! I honestly feel in my heart that it was best for me to leave and I feel that I am ready. With me already having my degree helped my decision even more!"

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound King transferred to Kansas last summer and had 30 catches for 537 yards and a touchdown for the Jayhawks, who finished 3-9.

King was third on the team in catches, second in receiving yards and averaged a team-best 17.9 yards per catch.
