The Orioles return home today, and Camden Yards has been good to them.
The Orioles are 33-14 at home and just 21-26 on the road. They evened out their home-heavy schedule with a grueling stretch that included 16 out of 19 games on the road and ended Thursday in New York against the Yankees. They lost four of seven on the most recent road trip to fall out of first place in the American League East, but they come back Friday for the first time since the All-Star break.
Their home success has been a big reason for their first-place standing for most of the season. At .702, they're the best home team in baseball and on pace for the third-highest home winning percentage since they moved to Baltimore, trailing only the pennant-winning teams of 1969 (.741) and 1970 (.728).
