Notes: Everth Cabrera allowed to travel to Toronto; J.J. Hardy progressing from injury

BOSTON — Orioles infielder Everth Cabrera has been given permission to remain with the club when it travels to Canada next week for a three-game series against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

There was concern that Cabrera, who was arrested in September and charged with resisting arrest, would be unable to be with the team in Toronto because he is currently serving a plea-deal sentence.

Cabrera, who was facing charges in San Diego, reached a plea deal in February. He was sentenced to three years' probation, 80 hours of community service and a $655 fine. The Orioles insisted that Cabrera's legal issues be resolved before finalizing a one-year, $2.4 million deal.
