Davis ties career highs - on July 6

In Chris Davis' breakout season last year, he hit 33 homers and drove in 85 runs.

With a two-run homer in the first inning Saturday against Andy Pettitte, the Orioles first baseman now has 33 homers and 85 RBIs – and it is July 6. So Davis has statistically already matched his great 2012 before this year's All Star Break

Call this his shattering season.

Davis' 33 homers in 87 games before the break is the most anyone has had post-break since San Francisco's Barry Bonds and Arizona's Luis Gonzalez in 2001. Bonds had 39 homers in 81 games and Gonzalez had 35 in 89 games.

It's the most pre-break for an American League player since Seattle's Ken Griffey Jr. hit 35 in 1998.
