INDIANAPOLIS — Michigan wide receiver Devin Funchess has been compared to NFL stars such as Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson. NFL teams are intrigued by Funchess' size and ability to make contested catches at 6-5, 235 pounds.

The Ravens have scheduled a meeting with Funchess for this week.

Funchess has been inconsistent with his hands and route running but is regarded as a possible late first-round draft pick. He caught 62 passes last season.

Funchess started as a tight end at Michigan but is expected to play wide receiver in the NFL.

Asked whether he's a wide receiver or a tight end, Funchess replied: "I'm a ballplayer."

The Ravens are going to meet with Alabama's Blake Sims, a dual-threat quarterback with good mobility.

"I think it will be a great transition," Sims said of his ability at the next level.
