Moore to join fellow Maryland women's boxers Crews and Brown at U.S. Olympic Trials

Maryland boxers clean up at the Olympic Trials Qualifier II for Women in Baltimore.

Amelia Moore of Millersville decisioned Mioshia Wagoner of Lawrence, Kan., 3-0, in a 132-pound consolation bout Friday night at the Pathway to Glory Olympic Trials Qualifier II for Women in Baltimore, earning a berth in the Olympic trials next month in Memphis, Tenn.

Franchon Crews of Baltimore and Tiara Brown of Oxon Hill, who had qualified for Memphis with semifinal victories Thursday night, capped off their week at Baltimore Harbor Hotel with championship victories Friday.

Crews, who won the Qualifier's Outstanding Boxer award, decisioned Iesha Kenney of Alexandria, Va., 3-0, at 165 pounds, and Brown, a 2012 world champion, decisioned Samantha Kinchen of Lexington, Ky., 2-1, at 132 pounds.

In Friday's other championship bout, Jamie Mitchell of Las Vegas decisioned Giovanna Camacho of Colorado Springs, Colo., 3-0, at 112 pounds.

Two other boxers qualified for Memphis by winning consolation bouts. Melanie Costa of Norton, Mass., decisioned Jacquelyn Cuddeback of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 3-0, at 112 pounds, and Cierra Taylor of Rochester, N.Y., won on a walkover over Martha Fabela of Oakland, Calif., at 165 pounds.
