Giants sign free agent receiver Golden Tate to replace Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants agreed to terms on Thursday with wide receiver Golden Tate, adding an accomplished veteran to try to fill the gaping hole left by Tuesday’s trade of Odell Beckham Jr.

The deal is a four-year, $37.5 million contract that includes $23 million fully guaranteed, per ESPN.

Tate, 30, won the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, and has played for the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tate was traded to Philly at this past season’s deadline and made the game-winning touchdown catch on fourth and goal for the Eagles in this past season’s Wild Card playoff win in Chicago.

The signing is further proof that Dave Gettleman is still trying to win now and not fully committing to a rebuild. The Beckham trade was about getting him off the team and acquiring some assets in return.

Tate is 5-10, 197 pounds but stretches the field well.
