Report: Nick Foles to sign with Jacksonville Jaguars

It appears Nick Foles won’t take nearly as long as Bryce Harper to find a new home.

Foles is set to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Les Bowen of

NFL free agency begins March 13.

The Eagles were unable to work out a trade for Foles and last week announced they would not use the franchise tag on the Super Bowl LII MVP, allowing him to become a free agent.

According to the report, the Jaguars don’t have much if any competition for Foles, and consequently he may not end up as one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league.

Foles in Jacksonville would be reunited with former Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, who was hired as the Jags’ offensive coordinator in January after serving the same role for the Minnesota Vikings. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer fired DeFilippo last season after 13 games.

After making the AFC title game two seasons ago and nearly meeting the Eagles in the Super Bowl, the Jaguars went 5-11 last season. Quarterback Blake Bortles was a major disappointment after being rewarded with a contract extension, and it would be a surprise if he returned.
