Cubs' Kris Bryant expected to return Tuesday after collision

Chicago Cubs slugger Kris Bryant was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning of Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds after suffering a bruise on his lower left leg.

Bryant was pulled in favor of Matt Szczur, one-half inning after colliding with center fielder Albert Almora Jr. on a fly to left center by Tyler Holt.

Bryant, who hit a two-run home run in the second, got up slowly after making the catch and finished the half inning.

After the game, manager Joe Maddon said Bryant should be healthy enough to return to the lineup.

"It’s my fault," Almora said. "I take responsibility for that."
