Orioles manager Buck Showalter said off-handedly this week that this was the time of year when teams started to separate themselves and pennant races shake out. This middle stretch in August has proven to be just that.
Teams that have been near the top of the Baltimore Sun's MLB Power Rankings are finally falling, those who were deemed too good to be playing as badly as they were are climbing, and everyone is just trying to hold on.
As always, these rankings are completely subjective, yet objectively correct.
