By the numbers for men's lacrosse (Feb. 14)

– That’s how many times Sacred Heart and Stony Brook had clashed with the latter winning all four games. On Saturday, the former recorded its first win in the series with an 11-9 victory.

– Duke senior attackman Justin Guterding has scored 12 goals and 15 assists in three games, averaging nine points. At this rate, he would finish with 135 points in the regular season, which would eclipse Lyle Thompson’s single-season NCAA record of 128 points that the Albany attackman set in 2014.

– Rio Grande, a restaurant in Denver, is offering free cheese on its entrees if No. 3 Denver scores 12 goals in a game. The Pioneers defeated Air Force, 11-5, on Saturday, meaning fans will have to wait until Friday’s game at No. 1 Duke to see if they can get the complimentary topping.

– Senior midfielder Connor Kelly (four goals, four assists) and sophomore attackman Jared Bernhardt (five goals, two assists) combined for 15 points in No. 2 Maryland’s 13-7 victory over Marist on Tuesday. That is the highest number of points by two players in a game since Mark Douglas (four goals, four assists) and Rob Wurzburger (six goals, one assist) totaled 15 points in 1991 against Ohio State.

– The 18 goals scored by No. 13 Army West Point in Saturday’s 12-goal rout of Massachusetts were the most by the Black Knights in a season opener since 1993 when that squad walloped Cornell, 18-5.
