Laurel Park announced Wednesday that it has canceled live racing for Thursday because of the bitterly cold weather.
“With record-setting arctic air moving into the area and wind gusts expected up to 50 mph, we felt it was in the best interest of our athletes to cancel racing Thursday,” Maryland Jockey Club President Sal Sinatra said in a statement.
Laurel Park will remain open Thursday for simulcast wagering.
