Reid, Dancel transfer; Navy to host Patriot men's lax
Running back Albert Reid and safety Zach Dancel are transferring from Maryland, an athletic department spokesman said Friday. Both are expected to graduate in the next few months, meaning they would be eligible to play immediately at another Football Bowl Subdivision school.

Men's lacrosse: Three Patriot League games on Friday night determined the field and seeding for the conference tournament, and No. 19 Navy captured the top seed and home-field advantage. The Midshipmen (8-4 overall) did not play Friday night but earned the No. 1 seed via their 6-2 record in the league. Although Colgate (8-4) also compiled a 6-2 mark courtesy of an 8-5 victory at No. 18 Army, Navy took the top spot courtesy of a 7-6 win at the Raiders on March 21. The Mids will host the semifinals Friday at 4:30 p.m and 7:30 p.m. and the title game Sunday at 1 p.m. Navy and Colgate will enjoy first-round byes. No. 17 Loyola Maryland (7-7) could have captured the No. 1 seed with a victory at Bucknell, but fell, 10-9, in overtime. The Greyhounds (5-3 conference) slid to the No. 4 seed and will host Army (8-5, 4-4) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. Bucknell (8-5, 5-3) is the No. 3 seed and will host Lehigh (7-8, 3-5) on Tuesday.

Administration: North Carolina State's board of trustees has approved a two-year contract extension for athletic director Debbie Yow that includes a pay bump from $516,000 to $690,000. Yow is a former athletic director at Maryland.
Baseball: Elon (17-18, 8-5 Colonial Athletic Association) scored four times in the first two innings and earned a 6-1 victory over host Towson (10-24-2, 4-9). ... Harford Community College freshman left fielder Ben Bomberger was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Week.
Men's basketball: Point guard Nevell Provo, a Nova Scotia native, signed a national letter of intent to attend Loyola Maryland.

Ravens' Supernaw signs exclusive-rights tender
Ravens tight end Phillip Supernaw signed his $510,000 exclusive-rights free agent tender Friday. Supernaw joined the Ravens last offseason after a stint with the Houston Texans. After being off and on the Ravens' practice squad and a two-game stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he caught one pass for 3 yards, Supernaw played six games on the Ravens' active roster. He caught two passes for 27 yards. Supernaw is the second tight end on the Ravens' depth chart behind starter Crockett Gillmore.

NFL draft: Penn State safety Adrian Amos (Calvert Hall) and Delaware middle linebacker David Mackall (Edmondson), a transfer from Maryland, have been invited to the Ravens' local prospect day, according to sources.

WNBA: Maryland senior guard Laurin Mincy was drafted by the New York Liberty in the third round with the No. 27 pick overall Thursday night. The Washington Mystics selected Dayton forward Ally Malott in the first round (eighth overall); Saint Joseph's guard Natasha Cloud, a transfer from Maryland, in the second round (15th overall); and Bosnia Herzegovina forward Marica Gajic from third round (32nd overall).
Baseball: Washington Nationals reliever Craig Stammen will have surgery Sunday for a torn flexor tendon in his right forearm and could miss the rest of the season.
