A little jockey born to Rosie Napravnik and Joe Sharp

A little more than two weeks ago, Rosie Napravnik wanted to travel to the 140th Preakness to receive the Maryland Jockey Club's Award of Merit for her stellar riding career.

She thought better of it because her pregnancy was entering the final turn.

This morning, her husband, Joe Sharp, tweeted they were the parents of Carson Wayne Sharp, who came into the world at 4:09 a.m. He was 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

Last fall Napravnik stunned the horse-racing world by announcing her retirement as a jockey after winning the Breeders' Cup Distaff. She said she was becoming an assistant trainer and a mom.

Carson Wayne Sharp 6lbs 15oz...mother and baby are both doing very well. Born June 1st at 4:09am.
