Stan Salter's betting tips and best bets for Saturday's race card at Laurel Park:

Race 1, 12:30 p.m. post time

Selections: No. 1 Tiz Majesty, No. 3 Mazzy Star, No. 4 Reward the Gypsy

The sharp drop in class should wake Tiz Majesty up for strong connections. Mazzy Star's last two races at this level have been respectable and Toledo stays aboard. Reward the Gypsy improved in her last race when they put blinkers on for the first-time.

Race 2, 1 p.m.

Selections: No. 2 Stone Crab, No. 4 Legend's Hope, No. 6 Theyallcomehome

Stone Crab's barn has been hot and they win 29 percent of the time with new runners in their barn, and McCarthy takes the call. Legend's Hope had a sharp come-from-behind win last out and the show horse from that race came back to win. Theyallcomehome finished a decent third last out at this level for the current leading trainer.

Race 3, 1:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 7 Persie, No. 1 Huntin'theholidays, No. 6 My Giant

Persie has had three wins, a second and a third in his last five starts, and gets Toledo. He's great value at 4-1. Huntin'theholidays had a sharp win last out and he keeps the hot Hamilton aboard. My Giant drops back down to his level today and should improve from his recent start.

Race 4, 2 p.m.

Selections: No. 2 Chips Icluded, No. 6 Twist 'n Shout, No. 1 Norma My Bride

Chips Icluded had a sharp win last out in the slop and is well spotted today following a brief freshening. Twist 'n Shout rallied wide in her last start and was a game second vs. similar company. Norma My Bride had a wire-to-wire win last time out at Charles Town and should show speed today from the rail.

Race 5, 2:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 6 Our First Candy, No. 1 Cotton Eye Gem, No. 7 Funny Surprise

Our First Candy rallied wide last out to break her maiden and is well spotted today vs. this group. Cotton Eye Gem gets reunited today with jockey who won on her with come from behind style two races ago. Funny Surprise was a decent third in the fog last out at Penn vs. similar company.

Race 6, 3 p.m.

Selections: No. 6 Letmebethe One, No. 3 J La Tache, No. 1 If I Was a Boy

Letmebethe One's speed from the outside with Toledo aboard might be the winning formula. J La Tache will be the heavy favorite, but is making her first start since last August. If I Was a Boy got tired going a mile last out, but gets back to her preferred distance today.

Race 7, 3:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 8 Love of the Bay (Price Play), No. 3 Johnny Hop, No. 4 Thats My Fella

Love of the Bay's barn has been winning with debut runners at big prices and this guy bred to be a nice one. Johnny Hop is a well-bred first-time starter from the powerful Graham Motion barn. Will be heavily bet with McCarthy up. Thats My Fella's first two races were very solid and we'll still get a nice price on him today.

Race 8, 4 p.m.

Selections: No. 5 Enterprising Lady (Best Bet), No. 1 Karaoke Queen, No. 4 Alpine Sky

Enterprising Lady had a game win at this level last out for her new barn and overcame adversity to do so. Karaoke Queen won two of her first three races so far for strong connections and might be any kind. Alpine Sky is dropping from stakes company to a level she was a strong second after a wide trip three starts ago.

Race 9, 4:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 6 Determined Nation, No. 8 Game Winning Shot, No. 5 Z Supreme

Determined Nation won at this level two weeks ago and we'll still get a nice price on him today. Game Winning Shot's big win at Penn last time out was his best race so far, but can he do it again? Z Supreme has been running decent vs. better company and should benefit from the class relief today.

Best bet: Race 8, No. 5 Enterprising Lady (5-2)

Price play: Race 7, No. 8 Love of the Bay (10-1)
