Stan Salter's betting tips and best bets for Saturday's race card at Laurel Park:

Race 1, 12:30 p.m. post time

Selections: No. 6 Sounds Delicious, No. 4 Beautiful Nite Sky, No. 7 Jumpin' Nancy

Sounds Delicious is a first-time starter trained by Linda Rice and she teams up with a jockey she's 8-for-16 with, Horacio Karamanos. Beautiful Nite Sky's last race wasn't very good, but she is capable of better. Jumpin' Nancy is a first-time starter by leading Mid-Atlantic sire Jump Start.

Race 2, 1 p.m.

Selections: No. 3 Rally With Class, No. 1 D N A Approved, No. 6 Turbin

Rally With Class rallied wide last out to finish a strong second at this level to a sharp winner who was claimed. D N A Approved has a tough rail post, but he has good stats going this distance. Turbin can jump up with a big effort every now and then, but a lot of question marks remain about his last race.

Race 3, 1:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 7 Resurgence,No. 1 Mr. Spaceman, No. 4 Concord Joe

Resurgence is a three-time winner at this track including his last two, but is making his first start since early October. Mr. Spaceman dropped to a winning level last time out and was claimed by a barn who has excelled first off the claim recently. Concord Joe's poor start last time out gives us excuse to ignore that race & he should regain top form at this level.

Race 4, 2 p.m.

Selections: No. 10 Lift Up,  No. 6 Ghoul's Night Out, No. 9 Sine Wave

Lift Up is a well-bred first-time starter by Ghostzapper and out of a Dynaformer-broodmare, trained by Michael Dickinson. Ghoul's Night Out makes it a Ghostzapper-sired first-time starter exacta. Sine Wave, daughter of Big Brown, shows some nice works at Pimlico for her debut today.

Race 5, 2:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 6 Alpine Sky, No. 8 Welcoming, No. 9 Scip's Sonata

Alpine Sky posted a solid MSW score on 10/1 at this track and the place horse came back to win just like this filly did. Welcoming gets back to a surface and distance that she has won already twice. Scip's Sonata overcame a troubled trip last out to run a respectable fourth.

Race 6, 3 p.m.

Selections: No. 7 Crabcakes,No. 5 Lucky in Malibu, No. 2 Phantom Shot

Get out the Old Bay and Natty Bohs and watch Crabcakes win this Maryland-style. Lucky in Malibu had a nice win last time out going two turns, which should set her up nicely for this race. Phantom Shot had a sharp win last time out to break her maiden and has posted some nice works since then.

Race 7, 3:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 5 Rockinn On Bye, No. 9 Sonny Inspired, No. 7 Just Jack

Rockinn On Bye has been running well against top stakes company all year and should get a nice stalking trip today. Sonny Inspired is a four-time winner at this track, including two stakes races this year. Just Jack cuts back to the distance and surface that he broke his maiden at last April.

Race 8, 4 p.m.

Selections: No. 5 Athena, No. 6 Hot City Girl, No. 2 Sweet On Smokey

Athena's win against stakes company here last year was very good and her last race was sneaky good. When Hot City Girl is right, she's almost unbeatable, but today is her first start since last August. Sweet On Smokey is 7-for-8 in-the-money at this track, with three wins.

Race 9, 4:30 p.m.

Selections: No. 5 O Dionysus, No. 3 Bonus Points, No. 9 Greatbullsoffire

Talented Maryland-bred, O Dionysus, rallied wide for an impressive win last time out against stakes company at Parx. Bonus Points, a Todd Pletcher-trained colt, should be dead fit for this distance. Greatbullsoffire is a two-time stakes winner who was third as the favorite last time out behind my top pick in here.

Best bet: Race 2, No. 3 Rally With Class (7-2)

Day maker: Race 8, No. 5 Athena (6-1)
