Past the midway point in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference soccer regular season, it's a good time to take a look at the standings.
The top six teams make the playoffs, with the top two earning byes in the first round. Here's a look at the current standings with league records and points earned (each team is awarded three points for a win and one for a tie):
McDonogh is a clear favorite to earn the top seed, while Loyola and St. Paul's are the prime candidates for the second spot. On Friday, St. Paul's travels to Loyola, but the Crusaders first play McDonogh on the road on Wednesday.
The final two playoff spots are wide open, with Spalding, Curley, Gilman and John Carroll in the mix.
