Jack Clark
McDonogh, freshman
A rookie for the Eagles but not on the mat, Clark holds seven New Jersey junior state titles, is a three-time Tulsa National winner and last year, as an eighth-grader wrestling up in the high school classification, won the 112-pound class at the War at the Shore.
Mark Colabucci
Reservoir, senior
Colabucci wrestled to perfection last year, going 44-0 at 145 pounds. He anchored his team's run to the Class 4A-3A state title, winning the top honor in his weight class.
Eric Friedman
St. Paul's, junior
A two-time Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association and Maryland Independent Schools champion, Friedman is looking to do it all again. His overall record is 95-12, and he was fourth in the 119-pound class at the National Prep Wrestling tournament.
Cole Gallagher
Archbishop Spalding, senior
Rated the best in the state at 112 pounds, Gallagher returns this season as the MIAA and MIS champion and a fourth-place finisher at the National Prep Wrestling tournament. He hopes to improve on his 40-5 record.
Tyler Hinton
Carver, senior
As a junior, Hinton finished third in the state meet. Coach Shawn Girch believes his inspired senior can improve on that result this season in the 140-pound class.
Nathan Kraisser
Centennial, junior
Over the summer, the 119-pound Kraisser became the first Marylander to win the Super 32 championship in North Carolina, which is said to be the toughest preseason competition in the country.
Warren Mack
Owings Mills, junior
A year ago Mack appeared to be on his way to at least a showdown for a state title. But after running his record to 31-1 and claiming the Baltimore County title, he broke his arm. Now he's back at 112pounds and looking for a better finish.
Mathew Miller
John Carroll, senior
A two-time All-American, Miller is undefeated in Maryland the past two years, winning the MIAA and MIS titles last year while going 47-2. Miller, who will wrestle in the 152-pound weight class, also had a school-record 42 pins.
Brett Przywara
Archbishop Curley, senior
Relentless in his preparation and pursuit of perfection, the 135-pound Przywara already has more than 100 wins and has placed three times in the National Preps. He is looking to add a second MIS title to go with the one he won as a freshman.
Ron Vaughters
Old Mill, senior
A two-time state champion and two-time first team All-Metro selection, Vaughters — who wrestles in the 152-pound weight class — does it with exceptional emotion and physicality. He has 121 wins going into this season.
