Towson, hitter, junior

• Dominated fifth and deciding set in Class 3A championship game against Centennial, leading Generals to state title

• Led Towson with three kills per game and perfect season with 19-0 record

Sam Brostrom

Centennial, hitter, senior

• Controlled both sides of net in 3A East championship against River Hill, allowing Eagles to advance to state tournament in five-set thriller

• Led Eagles with 206 kills, was second in aces with 41, and had 17 kills to lead Centennial in state championship loss to Towson

• Only member of All-Metro team to make first team in past three years

Will attend Albany on volleyball scholarship



Liz Brown

Centennial, hitter, senior

• Led Eagles with 183 digs, second on team in kills with 195

• Accumulated 95.5 percent serving percentage in 64 games for Eagles this season

• Named Howard County Player of the Year by county coaches last year

• Will attend William & Mary on volleyball scholarship



Rachael Holehouse

Fallston, hitter, junior

• Used powerful jump serve to propel Fallston to first state title in volleyball

• Contributed 19 kills, three aces in 3-0 victory over Marriotts Ridge in Class 2A state final

• Finished second on team in kills with 205, as Cougars scored 208 points off her serve

Recorded 114 digs, 103 assists on season



Shannon Webb

Fallston, hitter, senior

• Powerful kills were a major reason Fallston won Class 2A state title this year

• Averaged 13.4 kills, 1.5 blocks while leading Eagles to 18-2 record

• Stepped up big in state tournament, with 10 kills, 14 digs against Poolesville in state semifinals and 20 kills against Marriotts Ridge in state title game

• Ended season with 284 kills to lead team, and also contributed 132 digs, 33 blocks



Casey Giovanazzi

Catonsville, setter, senior

• Undisputed leader of Catonsville offense, starting on varsity all four years for Comets

• Has "highest volleyball IQ of anyone I've ever worked with," Comets coach Amanda Kaufman said

• Averaged seven kills, five aces as setter

• Will attend North Florida on volleyball scholarship



Allie Reed

Century, setter, senior

• Captain of Century offense led Knights to Class 2A West final

• Accumulated 423 assists, 93 kills in taking team to its first regional final

• Contributed 41 aces from serving line

• Led team in assists, aces, kill percentage



Talia Shapiro

Towson, libero, senior

• Leader of incredible defense that propelled Towson to Class 3A state title

Contributed 18 digs, two aces to lead to Generals in Class 3A state title game against Centennial

• Had seven digs in state semifinal match against LaPlata

• Was voted unsung hero of team by Towson's coaches
