Jenner, Kelly among six locals named in first wave of Under Armour lacrosse All-Americans

Last season’s All-Metro Players of the Year, Maddie Jenner from McDonogh and Jacob Kelly from Calvert Hall, lead six local high school lacrosse players named in the first wave of Under Armour All-Americans announced Tuesday.

Glenelg’s Anna Callahan, Bel Air’s Elizabeth Hillman, Marriotts Ridge’s Shay Clevenger and Boys’ Latin’s Matt Brandau were also selected to play in the 13th annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse games June 30 at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field. The girls will play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys at 8.

More players from the Baltimore area could be named in three additional waves to come by the end of May — 11 boys and 11 girls will be added each time before the full rosters are sorted into North and South teams for the games.

Jenner, a midfielder and draw control ace, and Kelly, an attackman, led their No. 1 teams to championships last spring. Jenner is headed for Duke while Kelly will play for North Carolina.

Attackman Brandau (Yale), midfielders Callahan (Duke) and Hillman (North Carolina) and defender Clevenger (Louisville) were All-Metro first-team selections last season.
