Jalen Smith, Immanuel Quickley among Naismith Trophy finalists; McDonald's All American Games nominees announced

Mount Saint Joseph forward Jalen Smith and John Carroll guard Immanuel Quickley on Wednesday were among the 25 senior finalists named for the Naismith Trophy Boys High School Player of the Year.

Joining the Maryland-bound Smith are Moses Brown, a Terps center target, and former targets Devon Dotson, a Kansas guard signee, and Keldon Johnson, a wing who is headed to Kentucky with Quickley.

Smith and Quickley also were nominated for the McDonald’s All American Game on Wednesday. Annapolis guard Christian Jones (undecided), McDonogh guard Noah Locke (Florida) and John Carroll guard Montez Mathis (Rutgers) were among the state’s other nominees for the prestigious senior showcase.

Institute of Notre Dame guard Ja'Lyn Armstrong (LIU Post), St. Frances guard Nia Clouden (Michigan State), Manchester Valley guard Mackenzie DeWees (Quinnipiac), McDonogh guard Taleah Dixon (Loyola Maryland) and McDonogh guard Kayla Liles (Elon) were nominated for the girls game.
