Betler’s sixth-place finish at the Howard County title meet last season was a personal record time of 19 minutes, 27.3 seconds. She went on to finish sixth at the Class 3A East Region meet and ninth at the 3A state meet as the Eagles’ top runner.
Mount Hebron, senior
Beyer hit a personal record time with a second-place finish at the Howard County championship meet in 18:49.5. She took second in the Class 3A East Region meet and capped her championship season with a team-best fifth-place finish at the 3A state meet.
Coffin is coming off a solid sophomore season and is expected to continue to make strides. She ran second behind her sister Maria at last year’s county championship meet and placed fourth in the 4A title race.
C. Milton Wright, sophomore
Cummins won the Class 3A state meet last year in 18:41.6 and is the 3A record holder in the history of the state meet. Her first-place finish is the ninth fastest all-time in the state of Maryland, and she also took first place in the Harford County and 3A North Region meets.
Archbishop Spalding, sophomore
Eden won the IAAM A Conference championship meet as a freshman to help the Cavaliers take second place. Eden and teammate Allysa Combs were the two top finishers for the Cavaliers.
Severna Park, junior
Eveleth set a personal record time of 19:28.3 in a fifth-place finish at the Class 4A state meet, helping the Falcons earn fifth place behind tough contenders Broadneck and Dulaney. She was the top finisher for the Falcons and try to make some noise this year.
Konkus finished fourth in the Class 2A state meet last year to help the Bulls capture a second straight 2A title. Her personal best time (19:12.8) came at the Baltimore County championship meet, during which she placed second.
Poulton ran exceptionally well as a junior last season and raced to second-, third- and fifth-place finishes in the Carroll County title meet, 2A West Region meet and 2A state meet. She was the Knights’ top runner last season and has showed no signs of slowing down.
Maryvale Prep, sophomore
Thomas finished sixth at last year’s IAAM A Conference championship meet as the Lions captured a second consecutive title. She is one of Maryvale Prep’s top four returners poised to push for a three-peat.
River Hill, senior
Tiamfook is coming off a consistent junior season, having won the Howard County and the Class 3A East Region championship meets. She capped the year with a seventh-place finish at the 3A state meet to help the Hawks earn second place.
