Kristin Hadden, Century

Hadden jokingly said she wasn't the greatest runner while competing in high school in Howard County. But her coaching skills certainly aren't making Century's foes laugh.

The Knights swept the Carroll County, Class 2A West and state championships for the second consecutive year.

Even though three-time state champion Maura Linde led the way, the Knights had a talented lineup full of depth, which they showed at the state meet. Century placed the five scoring runners in the top 28 for a 36-point victory over Bel Air.

Hadden, who still likes to run with her girls, said her lineup kept improving and made the Knights tough.

"We've been very blessed with a lot of depth," Hadden said. "They've definitely shown a lot of growth."
