The senior third baseman batted .667 with eight hits, including three home runs, and eight RBIs, to lead the No. 7 Hawks to three wins in the opening week of the season. Johnson, who will play next year at Virginia Tech, went 2-for-3 with three hits and two RBIs in a 6-0 win over Long Reach. She was 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs in a 10-4 win over Glenelg. She was also 2-for-4 in a 12-1 five-inning win over Marriotts Ridge. Defensively, she had 10 assists, a put out and did not make an error. Johnson, who also plays field hockey and runs indoor track for the Hawks, has a 3.83 GPA.
