Girl Athlete of the Week (March 17): Dionna White, Milford Mill

The senior capped a stellar four-year career by leading the No. 4 Millers (25-1) to their second straight Class 3A state championship. A 5-foot-6 combo guard, White had 25 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and six assists in the 74-70 title game victory over Urbana Saturday night. She rallied the Millers from an 11-point second-quarter deficit with three assists, three rebounds and two converted steals to take the lead and stay within three of the Hawks the rest of the game. She also had 38 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals and three assists in the 72-54 regional final win over No. 5 Aberdeen and 24 points, six rebounds, five steals and an assist in the 61-46 state semifinal victory over No. 6 Poly. A three-time All-Metro selection, the Millers' all-time leading scorer averaged 21.4 points, 4.2 assists, 4.4 steals and 5.2 rebounds per game this season. She has a 3.8 unweighted GPA and will play next season for Georgetown.
