The freshman ran the fastest time in Maryland this season to win the 500 meters at the state indoor track and field championship meet and also scored points in two other events to help the Indians win their first title. Her time of one minute, 15.29 seconds in the 500 ranks fifth in the nation this season, according to milesplit.com. McNeil also finished second in the 800 and her performance on the second leg of the 4x400 relay provided the Indians with the two points they needed to edge Milford Mill, 48-46, for the Class 3A championship. Also the Baltimore County champion in the 500 and 800, McNeil ran the fastest time in Maryland in the 600 meters this season. Last summer with the Owings Mills Track Club, McNeil ran on the gold-medal winning 4x400 relay team in the 13-14 bracket of the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics. She also runs cross country for the Indians and has a 3.38 GPA.
