The sophomore guard nailed three straight free throws with no time left in regulation to tie the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference basketball championship and spark No. 1 McDonogh's 59-52 win over No. 2 Roland Park Sunday night. After Roland Park took a three-point lead with two seconds left, Green, who had already made three 3-pointers, was fouled on an attempt from the corner as time expired. She finished with 13 points, three assists and three steals in the victory that gave the Eagles back-to-back A Conference titles. She also had 11 points, two assists and four steals in the 57-41 semifinal win over No. 3 St. Frances and 14 points, two assists and four steals in the 51-14 quarterfinal win over St. Vincent Pallotti. As the Eagles prepare to defend their title at the Bishop Walsh Girls Invitational Tournament March 5-7, Green is averaging 10 points, 2.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game. A veteran of the Team Takeover Amateur Athletic Union team, she also plays volleyball and runs track. Green has a 3.3 GPA.
