The freshman guard had two triple doubles last week to lead Manchester Valley to the most successful week of girls basketball in school history. In wins over top Carroll County foes Westminster, 57-51, and South Carroll, 38-26, as well as Francis Scott Key, 62-38, DeWees averaged 24.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 9.7 steals and 5.7 assists. She leads the county in all four statistical categories. Against Westminster, she had 27 points, 12 rebounds, 12 steals and eight assists. Against the county's first-place team, South Carroll, she had 16 points, 11 rebounds, seven steals and four assists. She scored 30 against Key and had 12 rebounds and 10 steals for her ninth triple double of the season. DeWees, 5 feet 7, averages 22 points, 12 rebounds, nine steals and 4.5 assists for the Mavericks (11-7). A veteran of the Central Maryland Attitude Amateur Athletic Union team, she has a 4.2 weighted GPA.
