Baltimore-area boys soccer: Breaking down the Top 15

The schedule was relatively light last week, aside from a county championship games in Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, which left The Baltimore Sun’s Top 15 boys soccer poll intact.

In Baltimore County, No. 4 Eastern Tech (12-1-1) claimed a 4-0 win over No. 7 Towson, handing the Generals (10-1-2) their first loss of the season. Two weeks ago, Broadneck beat Meade as the teams switched poll spots — the Bruins moving to No. 5 and Meade dropping to No. 11 — and the teams met again with the same outcome in the Anne Arundel County title game.

The playoffs are heating up this week, which could make for some changes next week. The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference moves to the semifinal round Thursday, as No. 1 Loyola Blakefield (17-0) hosts No. 10 Curley and No. 6 McDonogh hosts No. 9 Gilman.
