Aquille Carr
Patterson, guard, sophomore
It can be argued that the dynamic 5-foot-7 point guard had the finest freshman season ever in Baltimore, averaging 25.5 points, eight assists and 5.3 steals to earn All-Metro honors. Carr packs the gym every time he steps onto the court with the dazzling playmaking skills that make him the most exciting player in the area.
Greg Lewis
St. Frances, center, senior
The Panthers are banking on big things from the 6-8 Lewis, a four-year varsity player who can dominate inside as a scorer, rebounder and passer. Set to play at Rutgers, Lewis must emerge as St.Frances' go-to player this season after he averaged 12 points and seven rebounds on last year's senior-laden team.
Isaiah McCray
Milford Mill, guard, senior
Whatever the Millers need to be successful at a particular time, the versatile 6-1 McCray can provide it with a multidimensional game that produces wins. A team captain who is set to play at Colgate, McCray averaged 14points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals for last season's Class 3A champs.
Malcolm McMillan
John Carroll, guard, senior
The 6-foot point guard can be a one-man fast break with his highlight dunks. But the team captain also brings leadership and a fine all-around game that help put the Patriots in contention for the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference crown. Set to play at Central Connecticut State, McMillan averaged 17 points, 3.5 rebounds and two assists as a junior.
Ryan McTavish
South Carroll, guard-/forward, senior
The 6-4 swingman brings versatile skills and leadership, doing the big and little things that add up to success. Set to play at Division I Presbyterian in South Carolina, he averaged 19.8 points and 9.3rebounds last season.
Isaiah Miles
Glenelg Country School, forward, junior
The 6-8 forward averaged a double double last season (16 points, 12rebounds) and has added to his game with improved perimeter shooting. Aggressive with outstanding instincts, Miles also makes a huge impact at the defensive end, having averaged three blocks last season.
Rodney Pratcher
Edmondson, guard, senior
A four-year starter, the 6-foot Pratcher is a prototypical point guard with fine ball-handling, smart decision-making and the confidence to make the clutch shot. Proof came last season when he averaged 19 points, six assists and 2.5 steals in helping the Red Storm capture its first Baltimore City title.
Eric Savage
Old Mill, guard, senior
A four-year starter, Savage, at 6-1, brings a complete game that features a smooth jumper for the Class 4A state runner-up Patriots. After averaging 14 points, five rebounds and three assists last season, he'll be the catalyst for Old Mill, which lost key parts to graduation.
Kevin Smith
Digital Harbor, guard, senior
A transfer from West Virginia's Huntington Prep, the 6-1 Smith is the area's most talented newcomer with a tough, physical presence at lead guard. An ideal fit for the Rams, Smith pushes the ball with quickness and smart decisions, and also pressures the ball relentlessly on defense.
Greg Whittington
Oakland Mills, forward, senior
At 6-8, Whittington is a dominant presence at both ends of the floor, bringing a complete game for the Scorpions. With a midrange jumper to go with the ability to get above the rim, he averaged 14.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.3blocks and 2.5 steals last season.
